Uninstalling software is not as easy as you might think. When you use the standard Windows uninstall command found in the Windows Add or Remove Programs option in Control Panel, many files linked to the programme are often not deleted. Even if you use the uninstall programme which came with the software, "remnants" may well remain in the Windows Registry and elsewhere. In an effort to be more thorough, your PC often asks you to shut down the computer to complete the uninstallation, which of course is a terrible waste of time. Just check your PC with a programme such as EasyCleaner to realise all the unnecessary "bits" which remain even then.

Revo Uninstaller avoids this inconvenience and gets rid of everything to do with the programme you no longer want on your computer. It offers different thoroughness of uninstallation (from using the programme's own uninstall command to Safe, Moderate or Advanced), and usually circumvents the need to reboot. It also offers a nice Autorun Manager to allow you to control which programmes start when you turn on your PC, and a simple browser, Microsoft Office and Windows cleaner. Altogether a great utility and well worth having. And of course, it is free!
