iPrint & Preton Ink Saver

You may not think that you need iPrint, but it is a great little utility. How many times have you printed a document where the last page contains no useful information? iPrint not only allows you to preview what you will be printing, but you can easily delete unwanted pages before they are printed. iPrint also has the facility to scale down pages and print 2 or 4 pages on one sheet. The bottom line is, whether by deleting pages or scaling, you will save on paper.

Unlike much freeware, iPrint is free for both personal and commercial use. Nice!

If you really want to save paper and ink, combine iPrint with the free version of Preton Ink Saver (or you can use Preton on its own). It can easily integrate with your printers, and each time you print a document, it asks you whether you want to use less ink. For instance, you may want a perfect copy for posting, but keep a paler copy for yourself. The best compromise between quality and ink usage seems to be a 35% saving in ink. Try it!
