Dropbox & SugarSync

Put simply, Dropbox allows you to place folders and files into your Dropbox folder on one computer, and they will be virtually immediately available on any of your other computers that you have installed Dropbox on (Windows, Mac, and Linux too!). Alternatively, the same folders and files are available by simply logging in to your Dropbox account via the web using any computer or mobile device (e.g. phone, iPad, etc). This is great, for instance, if you are working on a document at work and at home, and means that you do not have to put the data on a USB stick or email it to yourself. Not only do you always have access to the "latest" version of any file, but previous versions and deleted files are also available for some time should you need them! You can even create a shared folder and allow others access your data. What makes this service so good is the fact that the updating process is automatic and virtually instantaneous. Grrrreat!

Dropbox provides 2 Gb for free, but you have to pay a monthly fee if you want larger capacity. 2 Gb should be enough for most invidivual users, but if you want more (and who doesn't?), try SugarSync and get 5 Gb for free (and it is also more convenient to use). Wow!!!
