KeePass Password Safe

Usernames and passwords are integral to the safe use of many websites, especially if you use the internet for home banking and shopping. As a result, we all tend to have several usernames and a multitude of passwords. But how do you remember them? Do you have a printed copy or save it as a file on your PC? Neither are safe - just think what would happen if you lost that piece of paper or someone stole your laptop?

One answer is to use a password manager such as KeePass which not only encrypts your usernames and passwords, but also allows autofilling (although this does not function on every website in my experience). You can put all your usernames and passwords in one database, which is locked with one master key or a key file, which means you only have to remember one single master password or select the key file to unlock the whole database. The databases are encrypted using the best and most secure encryption algorithms currently known (AES and Twofish), and can be adapted by the user for different log-in formats. Highly recommended.

Shred that piece of paper and use KeePass instead!
